Software Asset Management Consultant

As a Consultant you will be responsible for architecting and implementing USU’s leading Software Asset Management platform, SmartTrack, to meet customer business needs. You will actively work with USU’s customers to implement SAM best practices and ensure data quality, as well as deliver insight into software compliance risks and cost avoidance opportunities. You will also play a lead role in the successful delivery of customer projects while providing ongoing support to existing customers.
We are looking for a fast learner, critical thinker, problem solver, and data analyzer, with a high level of personal accountability paired with a sound sense of humor. Candidate should be goal oriented with strong interpersonal communication skills within enterprise environments

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead implementation activities on new customer engagements and projects
  • Understand client IT infrastructure, environment, processes and data
  • Architect functional solutions around client SAM needs using USU’s technology
  • Assess client ITAM landscape and create road maps to help achieve SAM program goals
  • Oversee completion and accuracy of client deliverables
  • Provide regular feedback to customer on data quality and accuracy, and assist customer as needed to obtain the required data where possible
  • Provide end user functional support on the use of USU’s Technology.
  • Provide regular communication and reporting to internal and external stakeholders on the performance of contracted services
  • Provide feedback on internal operations to improve the delivery of services

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Consulting experience including solutions-oriented problem solving
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills
  • Customer focused mentality
  • Project management
  • Ability to multi­task and manage priorities with strong attention to details
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Organization and reporting skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Knowledge of software vendor licensing rules and terms including Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, and Oracle is a plus
  • Working knowledge with software license management tools is a plus
  • Knowledge of general IT operations, operating system management, databases and integration are a plus
  • Industry Certification is a plus: ITIL, CSAM, CHAMP
