Professional training (Chambers of Industry and Commerce)

Are you about to earn your high school diploma and preparing to take the plunge into the work world? Then consider entering a professional training program run by the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (CIC).

Assume responsibility for your work early on and oversee small projects. Help determine your work schedule. Our trainers will support you and foster your strengths, so you can immediately put your knowledge to use in real projects.

  • Length of the training program: Three years
  • Start: On August 1 and September 1, respectively
  • Travel allowance

Dual study program

Would you like to get the best of both worlds: A college education and professional training? Our dual study program features defined segments of practical work where you take personal responsibility for projects.

You’ll join a team of IT experts and be brought into customer projects where you’ll help devise innovative IT solutions right from the very beginning. In short, we’ll provide you with the ideal foundation to successfully start your career!

Internship semester

Would you like to explore the work world during an internship semester? During your internship in development or consulting, you’ll play an active role in developing applications for our solutions as well as programming and implementing them. You’ll learn how project and quality management models are implemented in the real world and gain a keen understanding of the complex challenges posed by development.

  • Length of program: Usually four to six months
  • Start: Usually each March or September
  • Prerequisite: You’re registered as a student at a university during your internship

Student trainee

Would you like to gain some practical experience while earning extra money?

Help us in areas like further development of mobile applications by programming hybrid apps for iOS and Android, carrying out subprojects on your own, and helping our product management team come up with technical conceptions for new product features. Create a wide network of contacts at USU while you work.

Flexible working hours: Reduce your hours during exam weeks and increase them during semester breaks!

Do you still have to write a thesis before you graduate? Put your ideas and research results to work at USU. As a thesis student, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss your insights with specialists and get a chance to contribute to product development with your thesis.
