USU customer Türk Telekom wins IDC Award for best software license management project

At this year's IDC Türkiye CIO Summit in Sapanca near Instanbul, Türk Telekom won the IDC Award in the IT Cost Efficiency category. The award was given for the Group-wide Software Asset Management (SAM) project of the leading Turkish telecommunications operator. With the coveted awards, the International Data Corporation (IDC) recognizes outstanding achievements and innovations by leading technology managers.

Thanks to high-quality data and automated processes, Türk Telekom was able to save more than 12 times the cost of the entire SAM project within 3 years on the basis of USU Software Asset Management. The project was designed for over 20,000 clients and around 12,000 servers. The USU Software Asset Management solution was used to inventory and catalog the 1,600 license records from around 140+ vendors. The project was implemented by USU's Turkish partner MOS Academy, one of the leading SAM service providers. This enabled Türk Telekom not only to achieve full compliance, but also to reduce license costs to an absolute minimum. A detailed case study is available free of charge.

“We are more than happy to see Mr. Alaattin Çetin, Mr. Abdullah Tutgaç and their team receive this recognition. For more than 5 years we’ve been working with our customer towards turning the Software Asset Management Office into a true business partner and stakeholder influencing strategic software decisions at Turk Telekom. Both our precious reference customer Türk Telekom and we as MOS Academy are very happy about the project results and the international recognition that the project achieved,” shares Mr Kerim Yüksel from MOS Academy.
